The Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church (founded in 1838; known as "the National Cathedral of African Methodism") located at 1518 M Street, N.W., in downtown Washington, D.C. Designed by architect Samuel G. T. Morsell in 1886, the Gothic Revival-style building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
