In 1933, Cardozo High School for African American students moved into the former Business High School for whites (demolished) at 9th and Rhode Island Avenue, shown here. In 1950, Cardozo would move again into the former Central High School at 13th and Clifton streets, engendering the name change from Central to Cardozo.
