Asbury Dwellings located at 7th Street and Rhode Island Avenue, NW in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Constructed in 1902, the building was first known as McKinley Technical High School (white students only). In 1928, the building became home to Shaw Junior High School (black students only). The property was converted into a senior citizen housing complex called Asbury Dwellings. In December 2008, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
